Jack Daniel’s may be America’s favorite whisky, but a new batch of barflies are buying top-shelf - in the form of boutique bourbons, extra-aged ryes and small-batch Scotch. Like other liquors, the big news in whisky is what’s happening in the premium market, says Shawn Kelley, spokeswoman for the Distilled Spirits Council of the U.S.Sales for “high-end premium” and “superpremium” pints (anything over $16 for most whiskies or $27 for Scotch) were up 7% and 12% last year, she says, and new bottles are still hitting the market. The trend probably started with the success of pricey single-malt Scotch whiskies. Those methods - making whiskies in smaller quantities, with longer aging, hands-on attention and prettier packaging - have taken off, bringing prices with them.

Michael has been understandably protective of his privacy and naturally everyone around him has respected that desire to keep his private life just that. I have just learned that Michael Jackson will be announcing through his Real Beer Club that he is and has been suffering for at least a decade from Parkinson’s Disease.
